Drug Testing & You
I just got off a conference call at work. Apparently upper management thinks we’re all a bunch of drug addicts. We’ve been given 60 days repreive from the “random” drug tests so that we can all “clean up”. Then we’ll have a re-test of the “entire” company. Yay.
Not that I’m worried or anything. As most of you know, the life I lead is not on the bleeding edge of society. I can honestly say I’ve never done any illegal drugs… the only drug I’m addicted to is caffiene, and so far, that’s still legal.
This company is totally obsessed with their “random” drug testing program. I have never seen a company dedicate as much time and effort in an attempt to catch their employees using drugs.
I use the word “random” with a grain of salt, as I know people who have been tested several times in one year, and I know people who, as far as I am aware, have not been tested since I started with the company 18 months ago. I don’t believe the drug tests are that “random”. Personally, I’ve been tested three times, once was my pre-employment, once last year, once this year… and apparently I’ll be tested ONCE AGAIN with this re-test for everybody.
All this from a company that says they can’t afford to give raises. Ha.
Today promises to be a boring day… more later.
