Atlanta Morning Radio Sucks!

Once upon a time, I could wake up every morning listening to the only morning show I ever truely enjoyed. I kept my bedside radio locked on 96Rock…. The Regular Guys made me laugh every morning…. They argued like an old married couple… Larry would piss me off, and I’d wind up rooting for Eric, but in the end… it was all in the name of Entertainment, and that’s why I kept coming back for more every morning.

Then that nasty whore, Janet Jackson, had to go and show her disgusting tit during halftime at the Superbowl…. so soccer moms across the nation demanding the FCC crack down on indecency.

Not a few weeks later this happened (careful: Adult material), and that was the end of my favorite morning show.

Fast forward about six months (for those of you not keeping track, that’d be today), and now morning radio is nothing but a boring wasteland. Let’s take a look at some of the morning shows I’ve attempted to listen to since the demise of the Regular Guys.

Southside Steve and Tim Rhodes - The replacement morning show on 96Rock… Rhodes is a DJ… not an entertainer. And I always knew that the Regular Guys made Southside Steve funny. He is not funny on his own.

Bob & Tom - Whoever told these asshats that they are funny, must have been smoking crack. It’s nothing but bad radio. They talk over themselves and their guests, laugh at everything even if it’s not funny. Example: “I peed in the toilet today, Tom! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH— AhhhhHAHAHAHAHAAHAH HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH (ad nauseum)”

MJ in the Morning - Why do they call him MJ? And can someone PLEASE get this guy laid? He is a bitter sourpuss who hates everyone and everything. He never has a kind word to say to anyone, the guests, the others on the show, or the callers. He’s rude and apparently he must think he’s God. He sticks waaay too much to routine and that routine isn’t funny.

Mara Davis & Dunham - Well… they just weren’t funny. Probably why Z93 died.

Steve & Vikki - Can we find any two people who are not funny? This would be the “wholesome” alternative… where they start giggling if someone “toots” in public.

Dave FM - I was liking Dave FM… No DJ’s…. just music. then they had to go and put that puss Barnes on there with Foo-foo or Furby or whatever her name is…. I hated Barnes when he was on the Morning Xcrement… what makes anyone think this experiment will be different?

The Regular Guys CD’s that I have only offer two commutes of material… and I’m quickly wearing those out…. Can some radio exec out there PLEASE put some quality morning radio back on the air in Atlanta?
