Notes from Ann Arbor, Michigan

This week, I spent my time in Ann Arbor. There is certainly something about Michigan. Despite all the negative connotations Detroit and the surrounding areas brings to people’s minds, Michgian is not that bad of a state. The countryside was rather clean, and my sinuses didn’t tend to bother me there either. Downside: There are no attractive women in Michigan. None. I was there a week, and never saw one. It sure must suck to live there.

The customer’s site work was rather uneventful. I love customers who unbox everything for me, it makes set-up a snap. Training was relatively easy too. I spent the lions share of the time training the store managers, who in turn trained their cashiers. Nice thing was, the cashiers caught on quick, unlike some stores where I think they hire the dimmest bulbs on the Christmas tree on purpose.

My hotel was set-up really weird. You walked into kitchenette/mini-office and there is a partition between the mini-office and the bedroom. But in the doorway to the bedroom is also the TV armoire. So, I had to practically turn sideways to get between the edge of the bed and the TV armoire. This was important to do because the door to the bathroom was all the way in the back of the hotel room. Quite strange. And also odd was that this is a Holiday-Inn Express without High Speed Internet. Almost all Holiday Inn Express’ have this nowadays.

I’m writing this on the plane ride home. I say this because I just looked out the window, and man… this flight is hauling ass. We should be landing in about an hour. I’m looking forward to being home for a couple of days. There’s no football game to go to, so I can at least chill at home for a couple of days befire heading to Wisconsin, land of the cheese, on Monday.

Whoo-boy…. life on the road is tough.
