Kyle The Snow Warrior

Well, it’s finally November and we’re finally starting see cooler temperatures. Unfortunately, the cold temperatures came while I was traveling for two weeks in New York…. And I had no jacket… and I brought mostly short sleeve shirts. Brilliant.

So, I spent the first week on Long Island, where I did a mostly uneventful installation or two. All I knew was that my second week was totally up in the air, as the company had plans for me, but the customer wasn’t ready. So, I got pushed into an opening in Albany. This means I had to fly out of NYC on a puddlejumper (see left) with a whopping 19 seats in the whole plane. Man did I feel safe in that. HA!

Facts:

The highlight of my trip was being able to travel over the weekend to see my relatives in North Jersey. I got to see my aunt and uncle and my grandmother, all of whom I haven’t seen in a couple of years. We spent the weekend sightseeing, eating well, and shopping. I wound up buying a coat while I was in Jersey…. It kept getting colder and I had nothing to keep me warm. I enjoyed spending my time in Jersey and hope I get to go back soon.

While in north Jersey, I finally got to put my Verizon Wireless cell phone to the test. It seems that nobody is able to get good coverage here. When my father was up here a month ago, his Cingular phone couldn’t be heard for much than every other word. But everywhere I checked my Verizon phone had at least two bars of digital service… I made some calls with it too and I can finally say with certainty… “Yes, I can hear you now.”

Another thing I’ll say about north Jersey, it sure is beautiful up here. Might be a nice place to live if it wasn’t so darn expensive to buy a house here. There’s no way I could afford something nice on my salary.
