Ugh…. I hate the NBA
Look, it’s a bunch of over-paid thugs.
I am so sick and tired of the NBA. There is no entertainment value there anymore. The game isn’t about how the team is doing anymore, it’s how individual players are doing. All these players think about is me, me, me…. I wasn’t going to rant on Artest when he asked for time off to promote his rap album earlier this month, but after what happened yesterday, I just can’t stay silent.
How can you justify NBA professional basketball players going out into the stands and fighting with fans? These “men” are supposed to be professionals, and I would expect that they act professionally. Would Michael Jordan go out and pick a fight with a fan? Would Larry Bird? No.
I’m glad to hear that Artest and Jackson have been suspended indefinately. I personally think they should be fired and expelled from the NBA. Don’t allow another team to pick these two pieces of garbage up. It’s time for the NBA to take a stand against these “random” acts of violence. When you have a bunch of street punks playing roundball, you’re going to have these sorts of problems.
Artest said,
“I got up and then was lying down again when I got hit with a liquid ice and glass container on my chest and on my face. After that it was all self-defense.”
Now tell me… how does this sound like self-defense?
Just when it appeared tempers had died down, Artest was struck by a full cup thrown from the stands. He jumped up, and charged into the stands, throwing punches as he climbed over seats.
“He was on top of me, pummeling me,” fan Mike Ryan of Clarkston said. “He asked me, ‘Did you do it?’ I said, ‘No, man. No!’”
Sounds to me like Artest was provoking this. He should be fired, expelled from the NBA, and charges should be filed against him. Artest should go to jail for being the criminal he is. Charging into the stands is not self-defense.
The NBA has a chance to earn some respect back from me… let’s see if they take it.
PS - To the fans that got attacked by Artest and company… sue ‘em. Sue the shit out of them. Sue Artest, sue the NBA, sue the security company, sue the venue. Wake them up.
