Here I was last week all looking forward to going on my mini-vacation… my boss even gave me an extra day off. I was all set, I had a five day vacation (Wednesday - Sunday)… and now, I’ve been wondering all day, “Where the hell did it go?”

I guess sitting around in my underwear watching TV is a major time-kill, but I’ve got to catch up on my TiVo recordings to make room for new recordings. Oh god, does that sound pathetic or what? I need to get a life!

I had such a plan for this vacation. I was going to clean the house (which I managed to do most of that), organize my closet and organize the computer room (which is in a constant state of mess). Well, I guess one out of three isn’t bad.

Now, here it is, the beginning of the week and I’m back at the oriface. I hate going into the office. I sit at my makeshift desk in my 15 year old chair, pretending to look busy so nobody finds something for me to do. I’d rather be home, sitting in my underwear watching TiVo, home, writing more blog entries… travelling. At least when I travel, I get to see and do new things and meet new people. I go out more when I’m out of town than when I’m in town. I have more of a life on the road than off the road. Now remind me again why I want a job that doesn’t involve travelling?

Nice part about going into the office is seeing my co-workers. They all seem to love me. I’m not sure why that is, because usually when I call in to talk to them, I’m a grouch. Do they like me because I bring them presents from the road, or am I just that nice of a guy when I’m in the office? Yes, I can play office politics when I want to. Hmm… I must investigate this further.

Well, I must go to bed now if I’m going to be of any use tomorrow.
