Today was a travel day and I don’t think it can possibly get any worse than it already has….

It started off with a phone call this morning from my mom, warning me to check the airline’s website to see if there were any delays (I’m in Ohio)… the fact that my mom called wasn’t the bad thing… the bad thing is that I had slept rhough my alarm clock, and now I’m running late. So, I rush to get ready, and race my way down to the airport…. I get to the airport with less than an hour prior to take off…. after I get through security, I rush down the escalator, dragging my bags behind me…. I realize as I head towards the gate, my laptop bag’s handle was half broken (making it impossible to wheel along)… so I had to carry the thing…. well, my laptop only weighs about 10 pounds, plus the other stuff I bring along with it… it makes the laptop bag real heavy…. add to that my duffle bag with my clothes and my toolkit (which fortuantely I don’t drag on board), makes life pretty miserable.

I manage to get to my gate with about 30 minutes to spare to find the my plane is late coming from wherever it came from, so I had a few minutes to experiment with my laptop bag to see if I could fix it. Looks like I broke a screw (again probably from the weight) that held the rolling handle in place. So I gave up on that and waited to board the plane….

The plane ride was rather uneventful, save for the full glass of coke I spilled all over the floor and the, thankfully, empty seat next to me…. upon my arrival into Dayton, I try dragging my laptop bag again by the handle that’s still halfway connected…. get almost through the terminal and the handle finally breaks completely off…. so now I have to drag the 20 lb laptop bag by it’s carry handle…. I finally make it to the luggage carousel to find my tool kit making the final turn back inside… I try to run for it, but it disappears… I go back around to the other side of the carousel to wait for it to come back out, and they turn off the carousel and close the doors. Then I had to go looking for the airlines baggage office… after looking for 10 minutes, I stop at another airlines baggage counter to ask. I find out that my airline handles baggage service at the ticket counter…. at the other end of the airport…. so I finally make it down there to pick up my bag, then walk all the way BACK across the airport to get to the rental cars…

I finally make it my hotel and get checked in…. I pull out my laptop and start to answer some emails…. later I drop my laptop on the floor and in the process breaking my wireless network card…. so I went and bought another one at Wal-Mart… I bought the same kind as the one I had broken… I took it out of the box and put it in my laptop and it didn’t work either… in fact, it completely froze up my laptop…. I finally had to borrow another one from the front desk… ugh.

CAN ANYTHING ELSE GO WRONG TODAY?
