The Blizzard of 2005?
On great, I’m in northern Ohio now and it’s already snowing outside… am I gonna get stuck here? They’re talking about the Blizzard of 2005 is coming here this weekend. Pray it’s not early, so I can fly out of here on Thursday afternoon.
An energetic, quick-moving storm will dive east-southeastward across the Great Lakes Tuesday night into Wednesday. This feature will produce a swath of snow from Minnesota and Wisconsin to Michigan, northern Illinois, northern Indiana and Ohio Tuesday night, then into West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and upstate New York Wednesday morning. The snow will reach coastal areas from Virginia to New England Wednesday afternoon and evening. In general, we expect 2-4 inches of snow in areas surrounding the Great Lakes. However, local amounts of 6 inches are possible, especially in the favored spots south of Lake Superior and just to the east of Lake Michigan, where some lake-effect snow will develop on Wednesday. There will be 1-3 inches from northern Indiana to central Ohio and West Virginia as well as in central and eastern Pennsylvania and central New York. A fresh coating to an inch of snow is likely near the Ohio River in Kentucky, in southwestern Virginia and coastal areas from the Delmarva Peninsula northward to southern New England. Far eastern New England may pick up a few inches of snow Wednesday night.
