Music?
You can thank Mango for tagging me for a meme. You can see by my category links on the sidebar how often I do these, but I also have this strong desire to answer whenever I’m called out to do something…
I used to be a big music lover… now, I can take it or leave it. But I still have to have something going on in the background, talk radio, music, CD’s, RealRhapsody, something. You can tell by my massive CD collection that I used to be real passionate about music. Now, I’m more passionate about my TiVo.
There are a few types of music that will always elicit a response from me…. Country, Rap/Hip Hop, and Polka always get me to push the OFF button.
With some older tunes, I could go on and on about the stories behind them… but as you know, my life is boring, and I wouldn’t want to bore you to tears.
Without further ado, I bring you the MAGICAL MUSIC MEME:
Random 10 from my computer:
* REM - Losing My Religion - Yes, everyone’s heard this REM song, and amazingly, this song is how I finally discovered REM.
* Marshall Tucker Band - Can’t You See - This is the first song I learned to play on the guitar. Been so long since I’ve played… dunno if I still can.
* Bob Seger - Night Moves - Seger has always been a favorite of mine….
* Hootie & The Blowfish - Let Her Cry - Apparently I have to settle for being the second biggest Hootie fan in the world, since Mango claimed the top spot. To quote: “I don’t care how it makes me look. I like Hootie. A lot. The end.”
* Billy Joel - Piano Man - Memories… my frat brothers and I in New Orleans… down at the Tropical Isle
* John Mellencamp - Authority Song - Speaking of favorites, with every Mellencamp song ever recorded converted to MP3 on my computer, it’s no surprise he came up in this list. Claim to fame: Convinced my boss to hold a meeting down at Centennial Park in Atlanta so we could see the free Mellencamp concert when he came unannounced in 2000. Got so close that our webmaster managed to snag his guitar pick after the concert.
* Five for Fighting - 100 Years - Everytime I hear this song, it makes me reflect on life…
* Jimmy Buffett - Why Don’t We Get Drunk & Screw - Reminds me of an old friend… Jaime!
* DJ Aligator Project - Blow My Whistle, Bitch - Wow, techno. I forgot this was on here. A friend of mine is waaay into techno music and shared this one with me.
* Metallica - I Disappear - What music collection is complete without Metallica?
Amount of Music on your Computer: 5.3 GB, 703 songs
Last CD you bought: Um… buy a whole CD? Probably one of my 80’s compilations CDs.
Last song you listened to before receiving this message: Pearl Jam - Daughter
Five songs that you either play a lot, or mean a lot to you:
* Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight - Yet another song I learned on guitar, and played for an ex-girlfriend. Seriously thought she was the one… wish I had her back (yes, still)
* Barenaked Ladies - Stunt - WHOLE CD - This is the usual CD in my CD player in my car…. I listen to it over and over and over and over….
* Stevie Ray Vaughn - Sweet Home Chicago - This man really knows how to play the guitar.
* Uncle Cracker - Drift Away While I liked the original better, this is a great drinking song.
* All of my 80’s CD’s - These aren’t on the computer, but are on CD… I’m a big fan of the big-hair 80’s bands and music…. basically 1980-1986…. Those were the best years.
See, I told you I can’t pick just five.
Who are you going to pass this to, and why?
Well, Kelly for one, if nothing more than to make her update her blog more than once a week.
Girl From Florida, because it’s not like she has anything better to do! HA!
And last but not least, Avatar, because somehow I think she has a bunch of man hating music on her computer.

Hey screw you, I talk to you like every day. I’ve been having severe writer’s block lately. I just haven’t been feeling very witty. I’m a deadbeat, I know. But I’ll do this one since you asked so nicely. Jerk.
