Speechless…
I am completely speechless. These two girls thought they were doing a good deed by not attending a dance where there would be underage drinking, and instead made homemade cookies for their neighbors in Durango, Colorado.
Apparently, one neighbor isn’t a big fan of cookies and had an “anxiety attack”, which she thought was a heart attack over the ringing of her doorbell…. So then she sued, successfully, the girls for $900.
Isn’t that ridiculous? What idiot of a judge would possibly award such damages? These girls were trying to do something good, and some stupid bitch who needed a little extra cash decided to file this frivolous lawsuit to punish some girls for doing good.
From the DenverPost.com:
“We feel that knocking on a door and leaving cookies is a gesture of kindness and would not create an anxiety attack in the general public,” [the girls'] parents wrote to the court.
The girls wrote letters of apology to [the woman]. [One girl's] letter, written a few days after the episode, said in part: “I didn’t realize this would cause trouble for you. … I just wanted you to know that someone cared about you and your family.”
The families had offered to pay [the womans] medical bills if she would agree to indemnify the families against future claims.
[She] wouldn’t sign the agreement. She said the families’ apologies rang false and weren’t delivered in person. The matter went to court.
Sounds like the crazy bitch really wanted to get her hands on the pain and suffereing damages the judge FORTUNATELY didn’t award her. Who would want to deliver the apologies in person? I mean, the last time they tried to do something in person… it caused this whole fiasco.
What the hell is this world coming to? I think someone should sue the crazy bitch for being stupid and filing a frivolous lawsuit.
