The Worst Team in Basketball

Atlanta Hawks finally broke into double digit wins the other day…. winning their tenth game against the Lakers, which is pretty pathetic considering the NBA season is half-over already.

After years of mediocity, the Hawks have finally made it to the gutter. They are the official joke of the NBA. No one in Atlanta even cares about the Hawks. Consider the attendance numbers, the website reports an average of around 15,000 per game… but if you look at the highlights from the local news (ESPN doesn’t carry Hawks highlights), it looks like no one is there, most of the seats courtside are empty! So unless there’s 15,000 screaming fans in the nosebleeds, you know they’re counting tickets sold, not people who actually made it through the door.

It’s embarrassing. Can someone please let the Hawks die? How about a “contraction” of basketball teams like they were considering with baseball a couple years ago. I volunteer the Hawks right away.
