Warning: Political Rant!
Okay, this Terry Schiavo thing has gone waaay too far. We’ve called a special session to decide the fate of a private citizen? What the hell? I’m not going to take a stand on whether she should live or die, that is for her family to decide. And if that family can’t decide amongst themselves, that’s their problem, not mine; not yours; not the courts; not Congress’ and certainly not the President of the United States.
Talk about government waste at it’s worst. We’re flying senators, congressmen, and the president all over this country to help decide the fate of Ms. Schiavo.
In this post 9/11 world, with the war in Iraq, nuclear tensions in Korea, political tensions with Europe and the UN, social security on the brink of bankruptcy, and a host of other domestic problems, you’re telling me that the two most important fucking things in the world that Congress has had to deal with this week is meddling in the affairs of a private citizens right to live or die and steroid use in Major League Baseball?
I think it’s moronic how politics needed to get so involved with the rights of a single family, we are losing focus on the state of the rest of the nation. I know this may sound selfish, but fuck Terry Schiavo. All this poltical wrangling is only costing you and I tax dollars. Let her die, let her live… let her family decide!
