Last Will & Testament

The other day, I had my Will notarized and at the same time, I had drawn up a ::answers(”Living Will”):: . It seems like everyone’s doing it these days, several people at the office have had theirs done A lot of people are doing it in response to the Terri Schiavo ordeal. I say it’s a good idea just to have it done. You never know when you’re going to walk in front of a bus.

Here’s a few tips, in case you haven’t done your own… 1) Don’t use some crapola you download off the Internet. 2) Once you’re done, share your Living Will with your doctor, your family, and anyone you list in the document. 3) If you’re looking for an excellent, easy, do-it-yourself kit, I used ::amazon(”1401905676″,”Suze Ormans Will & Trust Kit”):: and had great success with it. I used it for creating both my Will and my Living Will.

The hardest part is actually getting your witnesses together in front of a notary. Some people are getting around that by having “Living Will Parties”, where they get a notary and a bunch of their friends together at their own house and everyone does their own Living Will, various people at the party serve as witnesses and the notary notarizes all of them. I was lucky, we have three registered notaries at the office, so I just got a couple of co-workers together in front one of them and had it signed. Didn’t even cost me a penny. Sometimes, people from accounting can be awesome.

Now don’t you greedy bastards start asking me what I left you… the answer is nuttin’. Unless you’re related to me, I didn’t leave you nuttin’. Unless someone wants to take over blogging at TheBisch… I’ll entertain offers.
