Super Snub?

I know it’s been a week since Superbowl XL, but I haven’t had an internet connection in all this time.

I’m wondering… did anybody else notice that Superbowl XL MVP, Hines Ward, snubbed his alma mater, the University of Georgia, in the introductions that Madden and Company did in the opening quarter? You know where they introduce the offense and defense, and you get to hear the players say things like “Bob Smiff, Awfenzive Lion, Yooneever-city of Suth-ern Cowlifornia”

Well, Hines Ward, who was a a fan favorite at UGA, introduces himself as “Hines Ward, Wide Receevah, Forest Park Georgia” Huh? That’s his hometown, not his college. Is he so embarrassed of the college he went to that he won’t even say it? What’s the deal? Does UGA really suck that bad? I mean, they *did* win the SEC Championship this year. They *did* go to the Sugar Bowl this year…

What is Ward’s problem? Any guesses?

That’s been a trend with a lot of players lately… they announce their high school. They have more pride in where they are FROM than where they went to college. Everybody knows he went to UGA.

Hines Ward is an awesome player, even this AU guy has to give him props. UGA now has 2 Superbowl MVPs in a few years. AU…um…
