Who’s making sense of this pregnancy thing?

Let’s see a show of comments to see who’s sick of hearing about this whole pregnancy thing. Some of my friends, Salena and Rick have posted their own opinions of this and we all seem to agree that the press is giving this way too much coverage.

I will take a moment to applaud Senator Obama who said, “Let me be as clear as possible, I think people’s families are off-limits, and people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president.”

Obama went on to say that reporters should “back off these kinds of stories” and noted that he was born to an 18-year-old mother.

I find it interesting that the liberal media hasn’t backed off… a quick check of CNN.com and MSN.com still show many stories about Bristol Palin on the front page of their respective sites.

I guess what hasn’t been expected is Hollywood weighing in on the matter. Lindsay Lohan (yes, that’s right) makes sense in her blog when she writes:

I’ve been watching the news all morning, like everyone else – and i keep hearing about the issues related to ‘teen pregnancy’- It’s all related to Sarah Palin and her 17 year old unmarried pregnant daughter. Well, I think the real problem comes from the fact that we are taking the focus off of getting to know Sarah Palin and her political views, and what she can do to make our country a less destructive place. Its distracting from the real issues, the real everyday problems that this country experiences.

So listen up, reporters. Nobody is interested in Bristol Palin’s pregnancy. When even HOLLYWOOD is questioning what you choose to cover, you should really move on from tabloid storylines to some actual reporting and news coverage.

Seriously… even my beloved FoxNews keeps talking about it. Big Fat Hairy Deal. It really is distracting from the real issues.
