Spread *your* wealth around, Obama

“The truth is, in order to get things like Universal Health Care and a revamped Education System, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of the pie so that someone else can have more” — Michelle Obama

If that doesn’t sound socialist and/or communistic, I don’t know what does. That statement absolutely scares the crap out of me. Why should *I* have to give up a piece of my pie in order to fund someone else? I have health care, and most people who have a *job* have access to health care. Universal Health Care is a terrible idea. Check England and see how well it’s working for them.

Revamped education system? There’s already an answer for that: privatization. Private schools work. Kids flourish there. I have a friend who has a child that the public schools deemed “unteachable”. This is a smart boy. So, she enrolled him in a private school, and now the boy flourishes. He has lots of friends, he’s doing well in school, he takes an *interest* in school.

The private school isn’t teaching to the lowest common denominator, which is what public schools tend to do. The private schools demand that you keep up. If you don’t keep up, you get held back. There is no “social promotion” like the public schools do. You don’t have grade inflation like you do in public schools. “Little Johnny deserves an A because it will make him feel better.” Wahhhh, did little Johnny earn his A? No, he was busy screwing off all day long. He EARNED an F by not doing his work.

Besides, if we want someone to spread the wealth around, why don’t we start with the Obamas? After all, Michelle can afford $450.00 for an afternoon snack at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Keep the Change, Barry and Michelle. I would certainly like to keep mine.
