What’s the Most Overplayed Christmas Song?

Last week I asked what’s your favorite Christmas Song? I had hoped more of you would reply, but I do appreciate those of you who did.

So, now for part two in this series of reader participation. What do you think is the most overplayed Christmas song? What is the one song that seems like it comes on over and over and over again. What’s that song that for you, when you hear it, makes you want to change the channel?

Mine is “Grownup Christmas List“. I think XM’s Holly has a mandatory minimum of once per hour for this song. It’s been performed by several artists, including Amy Grant, Donny Osmond, Barbra Streisand, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé, and Clay Aiken. I’m sure there’s others I’m forgetting.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice song with a good message. I’m just tired of hearing it.

So, what’s yours? Hit the comment link and let me know! I’ll enjoy reading your answers.

Oh, and special thanks to my dear reader who contributed to My Online Red Kettle. I hope some more of you can find it in your hearts to contribute a few spare dollars to the Salvation Army. Remember, for every dollar you contribute, I will donate 25 cents on December 31st.

The only version of My Grownup Christmas List that I like is Clay Aiken’s because he is the only one that doesn’t scream it. His is a wistful version that is at once emotional and sincere.

I guess I need to listen to a little more Christmas music. I haven’t had it on much this year. So I can’t really identify a particular song as being played too much.
