25 Things About Me

This is going around on Facebook. I just posted this on my Facebook page, but I thought I’d cross-post it here for my non-Facebook readers. If you read this, consider yourself tagged!

Rules:
Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.

1) Some foods just taste better with the condiments. That means I like fries with my ketchup. When I go out to eat, you’d best make sure I have a brand new bottle of ketchup if I order fries! I use french fries as a means to eat ketchup. I feel the same way about coffee. I like a little coffee with my sugar. I don’t like cream in my coffee though.

2) The longest I’ve worked for any single employer is five years. I put in my notice exactly five years and 1 week after I started. I left there to go to my current employer. I couldn’t be happier. In the end, the only thing I liked about that job were the people I worked with.

3) I beat the crap out of my cars when I was younger. I replaced the entire front end of my Pontiac Grand Am three times before I turned 18. I’m a much more careful driver now.

4) In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m forever and always an Auburn Tiger. I love Auburn and going to Auburn Football games.

5) While I attended Auburn, I was a DJ for the campus radio station, WEGL. I hosted the morning show, “The Good Morning Breakfast Bunch”. We nearly got kicked off the air… twice.

6) Beer has been a part of my life for as long as I have been alive. My dad worked for Anheuser-Busch for 30 years. After he retired, I got a job with a Brewery Restaurant Group.

7) My first job was with an Amusement Park named Frontier City. I was a ride operator. The best rides to run were the water rides, so you can see the hot chicks get off the ride soaking wet…

8) I collect beer steins, shot glasses, and beer glasses. I have enough glassware to party like a rockstar for a month and not do dishes.

9) I hate doing laundry. More specifically, I hate ironing.

10) I am a total night owl. Left up to my own schedule, I would stay awake all night and sleep all day. Life seems to get in the way of this.

11) When I was in high school and early college, I identified closely with the Republican Party. I am now more like a Libertarian. I have not left the Republican party. The Republican party has left me.

12) I have never voted for a Democrat for President. My first presidential election was Clinton vs. Dole.

13) I am not much of a religious person (hence *why* the Republican Party has left me).

14) I taught myself everything I know about computers and POS systems. I have no formal training.

15) My parents bought my first computer when I was 10. It was an Apple //c with a whopping 128k of RAM and no hard drive. Within a week, I managed to hack a system disk.

16) This makes me believe I wasted my college years and money on the Marketing Degree that I have. I haven’t worked in a marketing job since 2000.

17) I am completely and totally addicted to caffeine. I need it to make it through the day. I once tried to take myself off of it – cold turkey – but I got so cranky that my co-workers begged me to start drinking soda again. I would actually sit at my desk and shake like a drug addict going through withdrawals (because I was!)

18) Before I turned 30, I had only shot a gun a couple times. Now I own a couple, considering buying more, including an assault rifle, and I’m a Lifetime member of the NRA.

19) I left some of my best friends when I moved from Oklahoma City to Georgia in the middle of my junior year of high school. I still keep in touch, occasionally, and most of the people I knew in OKC are here on Facebook too. When my 10 year high school reunion came about, I accepted the invite to the OKC reunion over the school I actually graduated from.

20) Believe it or not, I’m really shy. I’m often loud and boisterous when I’m out with a group of friends, but that’s just me covering up for being shy!

21) Despite being shy, I really hate doing things alone.

22) I love Hawaii and will use any excuse I can to go back. I have been there on three business trips, but never on a personal trip. Each time, however, I’ve managed to get some extra time to do some sightseeing!

23) The first time I stepped foot off the North American continent was on my first trip to Hawaii in 2004. The first time I left the United States is when I went to Canada in 2007. I have never been to any other foreign country besides Canada.

24) I have a picture of me standing at the top of the World Trade Center and it’s dated September 11, 2000. I almost didn’t take this picture because I didn’t have a camera with me and didn’t want to pay for a disposable camera. I figured I’d always have time to come back…. then something made me buy the camera anyway and take a bunch of pictures. Kinda spooky, don’t you think?

25) The only thing that I miss about living in Atlanta is being able to see my friends on a regular basis. Other than that, I hated living there. After living in Chattanooga for nearly a year, I can still say I like living here.
